Set Yourself Up For Success!

Think of the first 5 Days of your Custom Nutrition Plan as your Clovis Crash Course!

5 days isn't a ton of time so we’re going to jump right in!

When it comes to getting fit, you’re bound to hear the word “Macros” thrown around a lot.

So what does it actually mean?

"Macro" is short for macronutrients. These are the nutrients that provide energy for the body.

There are 3 types:

  • Fats
  • Proteins
  • Carbohydrates

Your body uses all 3 of these, but only 2 of them are essential for human life.

So which one is the odd man out?

It’s carbs of course!

Yep, you read that correctly, carbs are not required for human survival! Not even a little bit.

That doesn’t mean that we should forget about carbs completely, but for the purposes of this challenge we’ll be building our foundation on fats and proteins (we’ll come back to carbs later)

Step 1: Download the Carb Manager App and enter the Macros from your Custom Nutrition Plan as soon as you have it. Watch the Tutorial Video here!

Remember - We’re building your base on fat and protein so don’t be alarmed by the amounts of protein and fat you’ll need to eat.

Step 2: Repeat after me: “I will not count calories”. Great! Now say it again “I will not count calories”.

Restricting calories is all the rage for weight loss, and don’t get me wrong, it can work, some of the time, for some people. But it’s the most dangerous weight loss tactic we’ve ever come up with as a society.

Your body composition will suffer, your long term weight goals will suffer, and you’ll be stripping years off your life... literally.

This is why it's so critical to hit your macros for optimal results!

Where will your calories come from?

Whole foods of course! I don’t mean the grocery chain (although I do shop there), I’m talking about real foods that come from a farm - you know, the way humans have eaten for 2,000 years. That brings me to...

Step 3: Foods You Can And Can Not Eat On Your Clovis Plan

You signed up for a Custom Nutrition Plan, so I’m going to assume you want to see results as quickly as possible!

If that’s true, then cutting these foods will be the most important part of the program for you.

Let’s start with the bad news, shall we?

What To Cut:

  • All grains
  • Refined Sugar
  • Dairy
  • Soy
  • Corn Syrup
  • Alcohol
  • … and fruit! (don’t freak out, not all fruit)

​​I know this sounds scary, but I need you to trust me…

And now for the good news…

What To Keep:

  • Meat
  • Healthy Fats & Oils
  • Vegetables
  • Nuts
  • (Some) Fruits
  • … and even treats like Dark Chocolate!

Before I go, let me leave you with this...

Over 85% of adult Americans are overweight.

Are they all stupid?

Do they all lack will power?

The answer is a resounding, “No!"

The truth is they are simply misinformed.


They follow flat out incorrect nutrition advice and stick with foods that are packed with ingredients that would sabotage anyone’s health.

Will you need your will power this week? Yes, but you’ll be backing it up with the right food choices which means it will get easier and easier over the long-term.
